Steven Stoddart – Director
Steven has over 40 years legal practice experience in commercial, healthcare, business and property matters. His early career specialisation in taxation provided the foundation and direction for Steven’s move into the commercial and small to medium business fields of practice and has proven invaluable in dealing with complex legal and financial transactions.
Steven recognises the importance of understanding the needs of each client and of having a close working relationship with them. His practice is built on the simple basics of being available, contactable, doing what needs to be done when it needs to be done and having a genuine concern for his clients and the outcomes that affect his clients. Testimony to this is that Steven’s first clients from early in his career remain his clients today.
Steven’s experience includes several years looking at commercial transactions and legal matters from the client’s side of the desk where his now pragmatic and practical commercial approach developed through working in the commercial environment and dealing with challenges and issues that businesses face every day.
Steven regularly advises on complicated commercial and property transactions, the complexities of the ownership and operation of healthcare businesses and healthcare services, and on all aspects of franchising law. Steven is one of only a few lawyers in Australia who has advised on and evolved with the six successive Government Guild Community Pharmacy Agreements and Pharmacy Location Rules and who has extensive experience dealing with State and Federal authorities and regulatory boards responsible for healthcare professionals and pharmacies.
Steven has enjoyed and learnt from the experiences of where his commercial practice has taken him. From those experiences comes Steven’s practice traits of perseverance, putting the effort in, finding solutions and resolving disputes.
